Rain | by Simon Edward

Rain

“Rain” is a down tempo ‘chill pop’ track; recorded and arranged at home over several days’ in December 2013.

I was at a very low point in late 2012. It’s difficult to put into words exactly what happened for me to be feeling the way I felt at this time. It was probably lots of things.

‘Rain’ was my way of doing something creative and positive to help draw a line under those feelings.

The idea came from one of my favorite sounds; wind chimes. The track features recordings made during a thunderstorm in a village north-east of Segovia, Spain by Kamen Nedev @ acoustic_mirror

The song title came when I heard the sound of rain on the recordings. I thought I would use a loop by Mr. DOS temporarily, as I wanted to play the parts myself, but I liked the electronic drum sounds, and it was all – or nothing.

The lyrics were inspired by a poem called ‘Tears (words the heart can’t say)’ by Froze In Fear.
